Reverend Jannie F. McConnell is a retired educator with 33 years of experience in the Berkeley County School District. She began her career as a substitute teacher in the Special Education Department. She went on to serve in various roles, positively impacting programs that benefited both children and the broader community. Mrs. McConnell earned an Associate of Arts degree from Trident Technical College and later graduated from Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, furthering

her commitment to education and ministry.

As an educator, Reverend McConnell’s greatest passion is working with children, especially those who are underserved, driven by her Christian belief in “doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.” She is an ordained Local Elder and serves as Associate Pastor at Wesley AME Church, where she has dedicated over 50 years of service. Her leadership at Wesley includes roles such as Youth Pastor, past president of the Usher Board and Choir President, Church School Teacher, Class Leader, Assistant Superintendent of Church School, Steward Board, and member of the Lucinda Snider Missionary Society, among others.
